What we collect
ShareBin.eu is designed to collect as little data as possible while remaining functional.
Uploaded files
Files you upload are stored on our server. The file is stored with its original filename (sanitised for safety), the upload timestamp, and the chosen expiry duration. Files are accessible to anyone who has the share link.
IP addresses
Your IP address may be recorded when you upload a file, download a file, or access the service. IP addresses are used for rate limiting, abuse prevention, and basic traffic statistics. They are stored in internal logs and are not shared with third parties for advertising purposes.
Notepad content
Text entered into the live notepad feature is stored on our server while the notepad is active. Notepad content associated with a specific notepad ID can be read by anyone who has that ID. Notepads that are empty and have been inactive for a period of time are deleted automatically.
Usage data
We record general access statistics such as which pages are visited and approximate traffic volume. This data is stored internally and is used for service improvement.
Analytics
ShareBin.eu uses Google Analytics to understand general site usage. Google Analytics may set cookies and collect data about your visit according to Google's privacy policy. You can opt out using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Cookies
ShareBin.eu sets a minimal number of cookies required for the service to function. These include session cookies for authenticated features. Google Analytics may also set third-party cookies as described above.
We do not use advertising cookies or sell your data to advertisers.
File expiry and deletion
Temporary files are automatically deleted after the expiry duration you selected at upload time (1 day, 7 days, or 30 days). Files uploaded with the Never expire option are not automatically deleted. All uploaded files may be deleted if they are found to violate our Terms of Service.
Data retention
Access logs containing IP addresses are retained for a limited period for security and abuse prevention purposes. We do not retain personal data beyond what is necessary for operating the service.
Third-party services
We use the following third-party services:
- Google Analytics — anonymous usage statistics
- jsDelivr / Google Fonts — for loading fonts and scripts; these services may log your IP address
Your rights
If you have uploaded a file and would like it removed before its natural expiry, use our content removal form. Include the file link and a clear explanation of why the content should be removed. We will process the request as promptly as we can.
Since ShareBin does not require account creation, we do not hold user profiles or personal accounts to delete. If you believe we hold other personal data about you and would like it removed, contact us via the contact page.
