File upload size limit
Files up to 500MB can be uploaded. Files larger than this limit are rejected before being saved. The limit applies to a single file upload.
File expiry and deletion
When uploading a file, you can choose when it should be deleted:
- 1 day — the file is deleted 24 hours after upload
- 7 days — the file is deleted 7 days after upload (default)
- 30 days — the file is deleted 30 days after upload
- Never expire — the file is kept indefinitely and is not automatically deleted
Files uploaded before the expiry feature was introduced are treated as non-expiring. Expired files cannot be downloaded and return a clear expiration notice.
Unlisted share links
Upload links are randomly generated and not publicly listed anywhere on the site. They are not shown in any directory or search result. However, anyone who has the link can access the file. For sensitive files, do not share the link publicly.
No account required
ShareBin does not require account creation. No password, no email, no registration. Files are associated with the upload link, not with a user account.
What metadata is stored
- The uploaded file itself is stored on the server
- The upload timestamp is recorded
- The chosen expiry is stored to manage automatic deletion
- The uploading IP address may be logged for abuse and rate-limiting purposes
- Download events may be logged for statistics
What is not guaranteed
- Files are not end-to-end encrypted. Do not upload confidential or sensitive personal data.
- Non-expiring files may still be removed in the event of maintenance, storage issues, or terms violations.
- No automated malware scanning is performed on uploaded files. Download files only from sources you trust.
- ShareBin is a small utility service and does not guarantee uptime or data durability like a commercial cloud provider.
Safe-use guidance
- Do not upload passwords, private keys, personal identification documents, or other sensitive data.
- Do not upload files that you would not want the link recipient to be able to share further.
- If you need to share something sensitive, use end-to-end encrypted tools designed for that purpose.
- Report suspected abuse via the contact page.
Transport security
All connections to ShareBin.eu use HTTPS. Files are transferred over an encrypted connection between your browser and the server.
